This site was set up in 2008, to help people find Government consultations more easily, and to show that it could be done: quickly and easily. The site has never been funded as such, and has relied on volunteers for maintenance and support. It hasn't had much maintenance recently and this shows: some consultations can't be found and some functions don't work as they should. We are currently seeking funding for a new version of TellThemWhatYouThink.
In the meantime, you can search a limited number of departments for open consultations at the Directgov Consultation Finder.
This consultation looks at how local authorities, businesses, the police and communities can better protect the areas where we live, work and play from the threat of terrorist attack.
The guidance that comes out of this consultation will help everyone involved understand their roles clearly.
The two consultation documents below include a new national framework called Working Together to Protect Crowded Places. It's designed to encourage better working relationships between local authorities, local agencies, organisations and businesses.
In addition, the Safer Places consultation supplement is a practical guide to designing counter-terrorism measures into new developments. It is a joint Home Office and Communities and Local Government document.
There's an impact assessment for this consultation as well.
To respond to either of the documents in this consultation, you can email CrowdedPlacesConsultation@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, or send your response by post to:
