Urban Development Corporations' Quinquennial Review - Consultation

Communities and Local Government is the sponsoring department for the three statutory UDCs: London Thames Gateway Development Corporations, Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation and West Northamptonshire Development Corporation. The UDCs were established in 2004 ultimately to secure regeneration in their areas and the delivery of housing growth proposed in the Sustainable Communities plan.

The principal purpose of this Consultation is to determine whether the UDCs continue to be needed, if so what aspects of their operation could be improved, and if not what alternative arrangements should be put in place.
