EU road transport proposals to establish common rules

Consultation published by The Department for Transport View original »

The Consultation Paper presents three proposed regulations by the European Commission to change EU and UK law on road transport by lorry, bus and coach.  One regulation would set out the conditions to be complied with to be an operator of road haulage company and/or coach operator. The other two Regulations would set out the rules for a haulier to transport goods by road and for a bus or coach operator to run international services in the EU, respectively. The paper shows the differences between the proposals and current law and includes an Impact Assessment of likely costs and benefits.
