Modernising Powers, Deterrents & Safeguards: A New Approach to Compliance Checks

This consultation document puts forward proposals for a new framework for HMRC to check that taxpayers are paying the right amount of tax and claiming the right amount of repayments. It includes a summary of responses to the previous consultation document published on 17 May 2007. Draft Legislation and an Impact Assessment have been published alongside this document.

Timeframe

This consultation started on 10th January 2008 and ended on 6th March 2008.
